Welcome
Perhaps you're feeling down or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery.
Therapy can help you handle emotions from problems or stressors, even if they aren't dramatically life-altering or traumatic. And if you have experienced a deeply traumatic or life altering experience then I believe therapy is a life changing necessity.
Psychotherapy is an effective form of therapy for a wide range of people because it works with the person where they are in their particular circumstance, it offers a safe and professional space for the individual or couple to explore what is happening for them on a conscious or sometimes deeply unconscious level.

The therapeutic relationship is of paramount importance for the
therapy to have a successful outcome and for that reason I am happy to have an informal chat on the phone or answer any questions you may have.
Please feel free to call me or to contact me via email. Just press the contact button in the menu bar. I look forward to talking with you.

About Me
Natalie Wise
I am a psychotherapist, counsellor, and coach offering services to individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and groups. I work with a range of evidence-based and integrative therapeutic approaches to support people experiencing emotional, relational, and psychological difficulties, with a particular focus on complex trauma presentations.
I am deeply committed to the psychotherapy profession and to the transformative potential of the therapeutic relationship. Across my clinical work, I have consistently witnessed the capacity for profound change when individuals are met with safety, attunement, and sustained relational depth—principles that are central to my practice and also informed by my own long-term engagement in personal therapy.
I am a registered member of PACFA and adhere strictly to its ethical framework. I participate in regular clinical supervision, ensuring ongoing reflection, accountability, and the highest standard of care for clients.
I have been engaged in weekly personal psychotherapy for over 15 years, which continues to inform both my clinical presence and my commitment to relational and trauma-informed practice.

Professional Background
I began my career in the health and wellness industry as a personal trainer and nutrition coach, working with clients for over a decade. During this time, I developed a strong capacity for relational engagement and observed that many of my clients were seeking support that extended beyond physical health to include emotional and psychological well-being.
This led me to further study in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), where I completed Master Practitioner training, followed by Meta-Coaching certifications (Levels 1 and 2). These frameworks strengthened my understanding of behavioural change, communication patterns, and performance psychology.
Recognising a deeper calling toward relational depth work and psychological healing, I returned to university to complete a Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling. This formal clinical training grounded my practice in contemporary psychodynamic, systemic, and trauma-informed approaches.
I have since worked as a trauma therapist with STARTTS (Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors), supporting refugee and asylum-seeking populations with complex trauma histories.
I currently maintain a private practice in Sydney, where I work with individuals presenting with complex trauma, CPTSD, personality disorders, and relational/developmental trauma. Alongside clinical work, I supervise emerging therapists and lecture at university on complex trauma, CPTSD, and complex clinical presentations.

My experience spans diverse presentations and life circumstances, and I offer both brief, focused interventions as well as longer-term, in-depth psychotherapy. Together, we will consider what approach best meets your needs, goals, and current situation.
Engaging in therapy is often a courageous and meaningful step, and I deeply respect each person’s decision to begin this process. My aim is to provide a safe, attuned, and collaborative space where meaningful change can unfold at a pace that feels manageable and appropriate for you.

Couples Therapy
In sessions, we begin by addressing the immediate or “secondary” issues that bring couples into therapy, while also working to identify the underlying patterns and core dynamics that sustain them. This allows us to move beyond surface-level conflict toward lasting, structural change in the relationship.
We explore how you each communicate, respond, and interact within the relationship system, including the emotional triggers and habitual patterns that shape your cycles of disconnection. I then facilitate a structured, safe process for each partner to express their needs, emotions, and desires in a way that can be heard and received.
Couples therapy provides practical, evidence-informed tools to navigate conflict, repair ruptures, and communicate more effectively during moments of tension. From this foundation, emotional connection can be rebuilt and strengthened over time.
As therapy progresses, couples often develop a deeper understanding of both themselves and their partner, including how each person functions within the relational dynamic. This awareness creates space for change at a behavioural and emotional level.
Many couples find it deeply meaningful to begin shifting long-standing automatic responses that have previously contributed to distress, moving instead toward more intentional, respectful, and connected ways of relating.

Family Therapy/Group Therapy

Family life can be deeply rewarding, but it can also become entrenched in repetitive cycles of conflict, misunderstanding, and emotional reactivity—where the same arguments play out in different forms, and change can feel difficult to sustain.
In my work with families, I support you in stepping out of these repeating patterns and in understanding the underlying dynamics that shape how each family member relates to, responds to, and reacts to one another. From a family systems perspective, we explore the roles, relational expectations, and interactional cycles that maintain both connection and disconnection within the family unit.
The aim is not to assign blame, but to increase awareness of how the system functions as a whole, and how each member contributes—often unintentionally—to the ongoing dynamic. From here, new ways of relating can be developed that support greater emotional safety, respect, and cohesion.
My work includes support with parenting approaches, parent–child dynamics, emotional regulation within the family system, and the development of more attuned, responsive, and connected relationships at home. Where appropriate, I also integrate attention to lifestyle factors such as routine, stress, and wellbeing, including nutrition and health considerations that may influence emotional and behavioural functioning.
I work with both younger and older families, and where clinically appropriate, I offer in-home sessions—particularly for families with younger children, where observing the natural environment can be especially helpful.
Each family program is tailored to your specific needs following a comprehensive intake process designed to understand the presenting concerns, relational patterns, and goals of the family system.
Fees: Vary depending on family size and structure
